Doheny State Beach is looking for volunteer docents to help staff the Visitor’s Center
The Visitor’s Center at Doheny State Beach is in need of volunteer docents in order to keep the Center open on advertised days of operation—Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Park staff will provide volunteers with an orientation and training session on park operations, the natural history of exhibits and information about the animal life found around Doheny. Monthly workshops on other park resources will also be provided to volunteers.
The Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association provides docents with volunteer attire, a free meal during orientation training and other activities throughout the year.
“The only requirement is completion of California State Park volunteer paperwork process and a happy attitude for working with park visitors,” said Vicki Wiker, Doheny State Beach interpreter.
The next training workshop is set for Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For questions or information please contact Wiker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
