Tammy McKennon, a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Dana Point, was chosen to attend the company’s inaugural Women’s Conference in February.
The conference, at Edward Jones headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, hosted just over 200, or approximately 10 percent, of the firm’s top female financial advisors.
“It was quite an honor to be chosen for this inaugural event,” McKennon said. “It was created as part of the firm’s commitment to growing the percentage of female advisors to 25 percent, far ahead of the less than 16 percent industry average.”
According to a press release from the company, currently approximately 19 percent of financial advisors are women. The event was organized to recognize the most successful among them.
McKennon has been with Edward Jones since 2009. She took over the Dana Point location, at 3 Monarch Bay Plaza, Suite 107, in 2012 upon Russell Kerr’s retirement. She also serves on the board of directors of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce.
