Sheriff’s Blotter: Caller Reports Hearing “Some Sort of Explosion”

Monday, June 6

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-UNKNOWN INJURIES
Crown Valley Parkway/Pacific Coast Highway (10:07 p.m.) Two Hondas were involved in an accident.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Monarch Beach Resort, 0 Block (7:15 p.m.) Two men, dressed in camouflage, were seen walking on the golf course with bows and arrows.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Victoria Boulevard, 26100 Block (7:09 p.m.) Police were called about someone in the area trying door handles on vehicles.

BURGLARY REPORT
Street of the Violet Lantern, 34300 Block (3:05 p.m.) The caller’s daughter reported multiple items were stolen from her vehicle.

DISTURBANCE
Street of the Golden Lantern, 32500 Block (2:01 p.m.) Police were called about a man who refused to leave the area and started cussing at the employees. Police were told the man was trying to sell candy.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Padina Circle, 33400 Block (1:59 p.m.) A woman called police and said she received a call from inside the residence, but there shouldn’t have been anyone there.

Sunday, June 5

BATTERY REPORT
Wave Crest Lane, 24800 Block (8:07 p.m.) Police received a call that a man punched the caller at the Yacht Club.

DRUNK DRIVING
Pacific Coast Highway/Crown Valley Parkway (6:43 p.m.) Police were called about a gray Nissan Murano driving erratically and the driver was throwing beer cans out the window.

RESCUE
End of West Jetty (4:22 p.m.) Someone called about a kayaker in distress after the kayak began to take on water.

PATROL CHECK
Harbor Entrance (1:35 p.m.) A call was about people who released some balloons “that will land in the harbor and kill the fish.”

Saturday, June 4

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-NON INJURY
Pacific Coast Highway/Del Prado (5:52 p.m.) There was a multi-vehicle accident.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Street of the Golden Lantern, 34600 Block (3:17 p.m.) The caller demanded to speak with a deputy about someone messing with his phone and credit cards.

DISTURBANCE
Doheny Park Road, 34100 Block (11:12 a.m.) Police were called for about 30 people out on the corner soliciting people for work.

RECKLESS DRIVING
Santa Clara Avenue, 24300 Block (8:15 a.m.) Police were called about an ongoing problem with vehicles driving at high speeds in the alley.

CITIZEN ASSIST
La Plaza, 34100 Block (7:02 a.m.) A woman called police claiming that her son stole her vehicle.

UNKNOWN TROUBLE
Los Cabos, 0 Block (5:49 a.m.) A caller said they heard a woman screaming, “Somebody help me, please,” from around the area.

WARRANT ARREST
Camino Capistrano, 35100 Block (1:01 a.m.) A man was arrested after an accident involving a vehicle and a wall.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Pointe Stirling, 32700 Block (12:47 a.m.) Police were called about a man using cardboard to try and open a front door.

Friday, June 3

HIT AND RUN MISDEMEANOR
Pacific Coast Highway, 32800 Block (11:14 p.m.) The caller told police a black sedan with out-of-state plates hit their car.

DISTURBANCE
Pacific Coast Highway, 34600 Block (9:29 p.m.) A caller told police his son pushed him and an Uber driver was trying to take him away.

CITIZEN ASSIST
Marquesa, 0 Block (8:54 p.m.) A woman told police her backyard patio furniture was moved around.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN VEHICLE
Puerto Place, 34600 Block (8:22 p.m.) Police were called about a man and woman in a white van. The caller said it looked like the man was injecting drugs into the woman.

DISTURBANCE
Via Sacramento/Camino Capistrano (6:07 p.m.) Four kids were throwing paper towel balls at passing vehicles.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-NON INJURY
Pacific Coast Highway/Palisades Drive (5:37 p.m.) A caller told police a silver vehicle and a white Chevy van and an Acura were involved in an accident.

DISTURBANCE
Street of the Golden Lantern, 34400 Block (5:29 p.m.) A woman called police about a man who was approaching women in the area and “being aggressive.” The woman told police the man followed her to her car and tried to open the door.

BATTERY
Camino El Molino, 34200 Block (4:39 p.m.) A caller told police their neighbor was upset because they were doing construction. They stated the neighbor got upset and threw water on the caller and his tools.

SHOTS HEARD-NO SUSPECT INFORMATION
Camino El Molino, 34400 Block (3:49 p.m.) A man was arrested after police were called about gunshots being heard.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-NON INJURY
Street of the Golden Lantern/Pointe Sutton (12:46 p.m.) Six vehicles were involved in an accident.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
El Encanto Avenue, 34000 Block (12:05 p.m.) Police were called about a woman who was looking into mailboxes. The caller told police the woman yelled at them when asked what she was doing.

WELFARE CHECK
Corniche Drive, 0 Block (8:56 a.m.) Police were called about dogs that have been out on a patio for more than a week. The caller said they had not seen the neighbor since before that time.

TRAFFIC ACCIDENT-NON INJURY
Stonehill Drive/Street of the Golden Lantern (7 a.m.) A white Toyota Corolla and a black Nissan Titan were involved in an accident.

Thursday, June 2

DISTURBANCE
Somerset Circle, 23100 Block (9 p.m.) A caller told police his ex-wife and three of her family members were outside the residence and were yelling.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN VEHICLE
Tennis Villas Drive, 0 Block (8:47 p.m.) Police were called about a black Grand Cherokee that had been running for multiple hours and appeared empty, but the windows were heavily tinted.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN VEHICLE
Oldbridge Road, 33700 Block (7:49 p.m.) Police were called about a woman driving a gold Toyota Camry up and down the street for the past hour. The caller also said the woman was seen earlier in the week doing the same thing.

PETTY THEFT REPORT
Del Prado, 24800 Block (4:20 p.m.) Police were called to the Verizon store in reference to a stolen phone.

DRUNK DRIVING
Pacific Coast Highway/Del Obispo Street (3:24 p.m.) Police were called about a driver drinking a beer.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/CIRCUMSTANCE
Del Obispo Street, 33600 Block (2:59 p.m.) Police were requested to the scene for a subject inside the branch.

MUNICIPAL CODE VIOLATIONS
West Jetty (2:29 p.m.) A caller told police two juveniles were on the closed jetty, halfway between the base and the bend.
