Board members of the South Orange County Wastewater Authority have named Betty Burnett, former counsel and assistant general manager for South Coast Water District, as the agency’s general manager.
“We had many exceptional candidates to choose from, but were greatly impressed by Betty’s work on the South Orange County Regional Watershed Management Plan and the new Aliso Creek Water Reclamation Facility,” said Scott Goldman, SOCWA Board Chairman.
Burnett started at SCWD in 2001 as in-house counsel. She later added duties of the director of administration and assistant general manager, and served as interim general manager from October 2012 to September 2013. The district’s current general manager, Andrew Brunhart, was hired in November.
SOCWA collects, treats and disposes of wastewater from more than 500,000 homes and businesses in south Orange County, including those in Dana Point, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano. Find out more at www.socwa.com.
