What started five years ago as the brainchild of a former Dana Point Yacht Club commodore, the Soda Pop Series has quickly turned into a popular summer event for youth sailors in all four of the Dana Point Harbor-based youth sailing programs.

The Soda Pop Series features youth sailors from Dana Point Yacht Club, Westwind Sailing, Dana West Yacht Club and the Mariner Sea Scouts taking part in friendly competition at the end of each week during the summer months. A typical Soda Pop regatta features 20 to 30 boats, with divisions for kids ages eight to 18.

The series’ final regatta took place in the Dana Point Harbor on Aug. 10.

Here are the results from the summer’s seventh and final regatta:

Tera Class: 1. Oliver Ernest 2. Nathaniel Espinoza
