Dana Point City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 2. Listed agenda items include adopting a resolution to approve the SB-1 Project List for fiscal year 2019-2020, a resolution to approve a notice of completion for the construction of the Arterial Roadway Resurfacing & Pavement Preservation Project and recruitment for the Arts and Culture Commission.
On April 28, 2017, then-Governor Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill SB-1, which established a Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) in the State Transportation Fund that is intended to address deferred maintenance on state and local street and road systems. In order to maintain eligibility for RMRA funding, the city must submit a proposed project list to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) by May 1 with a city council-approved resolution.
The terms for Arts and Culture Commissioners Maria Elena Banks, Nancy Jenkins and Karin Schnell will expire the last day of June. The city clerk will post a notice of vacancy for the vacant terms of office. Unless the city council determines otherwise, the notice shall be posted and applications accepted for a period of 30 days. Per the agenda item, applications received shall be forwarded to the city council for review, and interviews are scheduled at the direction of the mayor. Appointments are agendized for a council meeting at the direction of the mayor.
