On April 28, 2017, then-Governor Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill SB-1, which established a Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) in the State Transportation Fund that is intended to address deferred maintenance on state and local street and road systems. The city clerk will post a notice of vacancy for the vacant terms of office. Unless the city council determines otherwise, the notice shall be posted and applications accepted for a period of 30 days. Per the agenda item, applications received shall be forwarded to the city council for review, and interviews are scheduled at the direction of the mayor.
