The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying four suspects in a Mission Viejo armed robbery.
On Oct. 21 around 12:45 p.m., four suspects described as “male, African-Americans, wearing black masks and clothing” entered the Fredric H. Rubel jewelry store inside The Shops at Mission Viejo and began smashing glass display cases with hammers and grabbing jewelry.
“At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun; however, no shots were fired and there were no injuries to any of the employees,” Lt. Jeff Hallock said in a press release.
Witnesses later reported bags of jewelry being thrown from a vehicle off the 405 freeway near Beach Boulevard. Investigators found the items to be consistent with the stolen jewelry.
Anyone with information about the robbery or additional victims is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 714.647.7000. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.TIP.OCCS (855.847.6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
