Revital Fine Jewelry and Imports
24981 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Suite E110
David and Revital Romanoff are recent transplants to Dana Point from Chicago and in January opened their new store, Revital Fine Jewelry and Imports, in the Dana Marina Plaza.
David and Revital (say revvy-tall) started their import jewelry and textile business six years ago and recently decided to relocate to Dana Point from Chicago after finding the city a beautiful, laid back place to start a family.
“We love it here,” David Romanoff said. “The people are amazing and we count our blessings every day when we see that ocean.”
The Romanoffs said starting the business was a win-win, in that Revital was already in the jewelry business and both she and David love to travel.
“It became a great way to get out and explore, go on adventures and have a business where we can enjoy being around people and provide customers with something unique and beautiful,” David Romanoff said. “All the pieces in the store are handmade for us, and a good amount of it is fair trade. All are sourced individually from artisans in India, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet and Isreal. We physically meet the artists in their homes and commission them to make these pieces for us. So, when you buy things here you are supporting families, communities, and more than that, traditions passed down from generation to generation.”
Some of the most popular items at Revital include sterling silver from Israel, exotic looking pieces made with turquoise, coral and silver from Nepal and Himalayan yak wool Sherpa shawls. Their line also includes a wide selection of jewelry, from dainty formal styles to bold statement pieces, featuring a variety of precious and semi-precious gems, as well as ethnic clothing.
“We try to have a variety to suit many people, and because we source direct from the artists our pricing is incredible,” David Romanoff said. “The consensus seems to be, when people shop here they freak out about the prices; it’s so inexpensive compared to other shops in the area. We want our customers to not only connect with the pieces, but be able to afford them as well. What may be priced elsewhere at $200 to $400, you can find here for $80 to $90.”
Revital is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to close, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to close.
