The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has confirmed the first mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus in Dana Point for 2016.
The mosquitoes were collected in a trap on Quail Run, according to a statement from the Vector Control District.
The Vector Control District advises residents, park guests, sports leagues and outdoor event attendees take precautions and wear repellents when mosquitoes are most active.
