Members of Capistrano Unified School District, Dana Hills High School, Monarch Beach Resort and the city of Dana Point officially opened the Monarch Beach Resort Hospitality Academy with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Oct. 10.
Monarch Beach Resort Hospitality Academy is a program that allows students to head to Monarch Beach twice a week to learn about the hotel industry. This is the first year for the program, and 16 Dana Hills students currently attend the sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The students are able to learn from experts in culinary arts, hotel management and hospitality.
Next semester, the students will choose a field in which to have an internship.
