Orange County Sheriff officials say a man who was found dead in Dana Point last week may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.
Early Friday morning police found a man identified as John Stewart, 22, unconscious in the road.
Lt. Mark Stichter, Public Information Officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said they believe in the incident occurred between 3:30 and 4:15 a.m. on Friday morning.
Police responded to the intersection of Crown Valley Parkway and Seven Seas around 4:15 a.m. where they found Stewart in the road. Police said he was later pronounced dead.
Stichter said the sheriff’s department is currently reviewing surveillance video but no witnesses have come forward. Stichter also said there are currently no suspects.
