A newcomer to Dana Point Harbor, Mahé combines sushi, six teppan tables and live music four nights a week to attract many types of customers. Co-owners Toby Reece and Anthony Andrews created the restaurant with four distinct areas: a bar, a patio, a teppan room and a sushi bar. “We’re here for you,” said General Manager Bill Senteno. “Come let us show you what service is all about.” Waiters and chefs will recommend dishes and items like the Aloha Wrap: crab, yellowtail, avocado, mango, ponzu sauce and a variety of spices. Daily specials, including the Surfer and chefs’ original creations like the Sushi Pizza, are made for the adventurous and committed sushi-eaters. In addition to music Wednesday–Saturday starting at 8 p.m., happy hour is Monday through Saturday, 4:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m. and Sunday, 3:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m. in the bar.
