Those who are interested in participating in the Festival of Whales logo contest have until Sept. 20 at midnight.
The contest, which is open to the public for the first time in five years, will select a winning logo that will be displayed on promotional materials, clothing, advertising and more.
Five finalists will be selected by the Festival of Whales Foundation Board and will go to a vote of the public via social media from Sept. 23-30.
The first place prize is $500 and two whale watching tickets. Second place prize is $100 and two whale watching tickets. Third place prize is $50 and two whale watching tickets. Fourth and fifth place prizes are two whale watching tickets.
Entries must include a dominant representation of a California gray whale, which inspired the 46th annual event. All entries must be emailed to dpfestivalofwhales@gmail.com.
