Sandra Ackerman, San Clemente

For those who have not been paying attention, MemorialCare Corporation is planning to turn our hospital in San Clemente into an urgent care facility. It will no longer be a hospital or have an emergency room. All of us here in south Orange County will have to go to either Laguna Beach or Mission Viejo. Good luck if traffic is bad. Everyone knows that time is of the essence in cases of stroke, heart attack, a bad cut, a sick child, etc. I’m pretty sure we have two senior citizen homes and many doctor’s offices because of the proximity of the hospital. There is a group of people that is trying to keep this from occurring. Please make your voice heard by signing a petition online or by putting a sign in front of your house. If you don’t make your voice heard, we won’t have a hospital here. The online petition can be accessed by typing “Save San Clemente Hospital” into a search engine.
