I was shocked and saddened to read about the plight of Tom Volkmann [“Closing Shop,” Dana Point Times, Oct. 21]. He has been repairing my autos for several years. I was in the auto repair business myself for many years and know that it is seldom you find an honest and competent person in this field. Tom is both, and an asset to our community. I don’t know what is happening with Dana Point. It certainly doesn’t reflect the better interest of the majority of residents anymore. Hopefully, something can be done to save Tom’s business.
