Looking at this Dana Point Town Center plan drawing, I see incredible traffic jams and nuisance for the residents of Dana Point.

If we had shops people were interested in they would already be stopping and shopping, and not just bypassing the crowded freeway. We didn’t have to screw up our town by forcibly slowing down traffic until it becomes a real pain in the ass.

Several years ago I asked councilmembers if the plan creates a headache for residents would they reverse it and undo a problematic and irritating “couplet” and not force us to live their mistake. I never got a reply. What say you today?

I’m surprised anybody would complain about good change to the non pedestrian friendly town center area. The current format doesn’t create an environment where people would want to come walk, shop, eat.

    Richard-

I am surprised also. I have no doubt that not everyone will like all or even some of the upcoming changes to the towncenter. I am however surprised that the slowing down of traffic is the complaint!

I’d love for someone to estimate the time it takes to get from the bridge at Doheny up to Blue Lantern currently. 2 Minutes? 3 minutes?

I guess the city should be more concerned with moving cars from San Clemente up to Laguna Beach as fast as possible rather than creating an environment where small business can survive.
