March 10 shall always have special meaning for me and my wife. Our city renamed Dana Point Youth Baseball’s Mustang Field the Gene Burrus Ballfield in my honor.
A special baseball shrine has also been dedicated in front of the right field area, while a certificate was presented from Diane Harkey and the California Assembly.
There are others I feel who are more deserving, but this recognition is gratefully accepted with the hope that I may continue to serve our beautiful city in the years to come.
I have the best of two worlds, volunteering for our youth as well as fellow senior citizens.
Life can’t get any better than that!
