Olympic silver medalist Jennifer Kessy returns to Dana Hills High for alumni exhibition
By Andrea Swayne
Professional volleyball player, Olympic silver medalist and Dana Hills High School graduate Jennifer Kessy will return to campus to join other past girls volleyball team players for an alumni game on Oct. 7 beginning at 7 p.m.
The game was organized by Dana Point Director of Community Development Ursula Luna-Reynosa, a Dana Hills grad and former volleyball team member who will be among the alumni taking the court.
There will be no admission charge for the event but funds raised through voluntary donations by attendees will go toward supporting the Dolphin girls volleyball program.
“I think recognizing all the great players who have come through the Dana Hills program in this way is important,” Mark Rivadeneyra, girls varsity volleyball head coach, said. “A number of them have gone on to play for college teams, and beyond, in the case of Jen. This is the first alumni game in quite a few years and we hope to make it a tradition, bringing our current players together with former Dolphins to celebrate what a great program we have here.”
