In a closely contested, back and forth contest the Dana Hills football team lost to visiting Garden Grove 14-12 on Sept. 26.

The Dolphins (1-4) opened up the scoring on a 44-yard field goal by Brandon Villacreses midway through the first quarter. Neither team scored until just seconds before the half, when the Argonauts scored on a short Alejandro Ceja touchdown run. Ceja would go on to score the decisive touchdown in the third quarter that gave Garden Grove a 14-3 lead.

Villacreses knocked home another field goal and Connor McCloud scored on a 24-yard  touchdown run to narrow the lead late in the game and the Dolphins had a chance to go ahead with the clock winding down. The Dolphins had the ball on their own three-yard line with just over one minute to go but could not get in field goal range for a chance at the win.

The Dolphins will host Cypress on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
