The Orange County Fire Authority and Dana Point Police Services responded to a report of smoke coming from the garage of a Dana Point home Tuesday afternoon on the 34000 block of Amber Lantern, authorities said.
According to Dana Point Chief of Police Lt. Russ Chilton, the fire was extinguished quickly but resulted in an approximately hour-long closure of Amber Lantern and La Cresta beginning at about 4:30 p.m.
“The fire was likely started by a battery charger in the garage,” Chilton said. “No one was home at the time, no injuries were reported and the damage was minimal.”
