Hans Crouse, a hard-throwing right-handed pitcher out of Dana Hills High School, was one of 20 high school ballplayers selected to represent the United States on the USA Baseball 18U National Team when it opens up play in the COPABE Pan American “AAA” Championships in Mexico on Sept. 30.

Crouse, a soon-to-be senior, is one of seven players from California that were selected to the team, and part of a trio of Orange County natives that will compete. Crouse is joined by JSerra Catholic’s Royce Lewis and Huntington Beach’s Nick Pratto on the squad.

The team will look to defend its gold medal in the event, which was won in 2014. The games will run Sept. 30 to Oct. 9.
