Cox Charities will award $50,000 in grants to Orange County nonprofit organizations to support programs that focus on youth, education, conservation and the military.
The Cox Charities Advisory Board will consider requests up to $5,000. An additional $5,000 will be awarded to the organization with the most votes and retweets in an online and Twitter public voting campaign that will run in mid-October.
In 2015, Cox Charities awarded grants to 13 Orange County nonprofit organizations. Special Olympics Orange County tallied the most votes and received an additional $5,000, according to Cox Charities.
To be considered for grant funding, organizations must be the following requirements:
- Be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization;
- Be located or provide services in Orange County;
- Show measurable results from the program and complete a post-grant evaluation form;
- Provide information on program outreach components including website and social media.
