With no other applicants to challenge for a seat on the Arts and Culture Commission, Dana Point City Council approved the sitting members for reappointment on Tuesday, June 18. Maria Elena Banks, Nancy Jenkins and Karin Schnell will serve another four-year team at the pleasure of city council. Rich Holt was also appointed to the Traffic Improvement Subcommittee.

City council also approved a pay bonus for City Manager Mark Denny. During a June 4 closed session meeting, city council initiated Denny’s annual performance evaluation. Per his employment agreement, council discusses a 5% bonus of his base salary in connection to his annual evaluation. Council approved a two-year contract extension and the 5% bonus.

“We believe (Denny) is doing a great job, he’s a valuable asset to the community, and we want to see that continue,” Mayor Joe Muller said.
