The City of Dana Point’s annual Winter Festival and Tree Lighting event will be held from 12-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at La Plaza Park.
Activities throughout the day include a visit from Santa, carnival games, a craft fair, face-painting, cookie decorating, holiday crafts, Lego Santa’s Village Workshop, a mini express train, a petting zoo and pony rides.
A new addition to this year’s event will be the Laguna Community Concert Band, which will consist of two components. The larger contingent, a 50-piece band, will play holiday tunes from 3-4 p.m., with the Swing Society beginning to play just before the tree lighting from 4:15-5:15 p.m.
The annual tree lighting will occur between 5:15-5:30 p.m.
Most activities at the Winter Festival and Tree Lighting event are free, but sales from baked goods, barbecue food items and beverage purchases will benefit the Dana Point Veterans of Foreign Wars post #9934 and Dana Point Relay for Life. —DR
