With the Fourth of July, comes lots of traffic congestion and parking challenges in the city. To help with the flow of traffic, the Dana Point Police Services and Public works released a Fourth of July parking program.
Below is some information to help navigate the parking and road closings.
Harbor Shuttle
The Harbor Shuttle will run throughout the harbor. The route includes stops on Dana Point Harbor Drive, Island Way and Dana Drive.
The shuttle services will be available from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Parking Shuttle
Parking will be available at Dana Hills High School. The City is providing shuttle services from the high school to the corner of Dana Point Harbor Drive and Golden Lantern.
The shuttle will run from 8 a.m. to midnight. The last stop in the Harbor is 11 p.m.
Dana Point Harbor Drive
There will be no left turns allowed on Dana Point Harbor Drive from Pacific Coast Highway to Baby Beach. The only two exceptions will be at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Embarcadero, as well as at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Golden Lantern.
Access to roadways and parking lots will only be available from eastbound Dana Point Harbor Drive.
Doheny State Beach/Puerto Place
Both of the access points to public beach parking may be closed to all traffic when parking lots become full. If access to a business on Puerto Place is closed, please contact the police resources at the road closure who can assist.
When exiting Puerto Place, only right hand turns will be permitted.
Island Way
The City and County are intending to keep Island Way open to traffic this year. It is possible it could close due to traffic congestion.
If access to Island Way to visit a business or access to a boat is needed, please contact the police resources at the road closures.
When exiting Island Way, only right hand turns will be permitted.
Cove Road
Cove Road will remain open throughout the day, but will be closed to traffic during the firework show. Once the fireworks are completed, the road will be reopened.
