The fourth annual Orange County-California Wine Festival comes to Dana Point this weekend, with two days of California wine samplings, local cuisine tastings and live entertainment.

Sunset Rare & Reserve Wine Tasting

6:30 p.m.–9 p.m.—Laguna Cliffs Marriot Resort & Spa, 25135 Park Lantern

Winemakers are dusting off for these specials pours, as this tasting will feature rare and reserve level bottles, some of which are no longer in distribution. A champagne reception opens the evening of proprietor reserves and end-of-vintage vinos, including Napa trophy cabs, rare bottles from Sonoma County, Santa Cruz and Sierra Mountain areas, the red-hot Central Coast, Pinots from Santa Barbara County and more. Regional chefs will be on hand and live jazz will keep the party swinging.

Tickets: $99 in advance, $125 at the door

VIP tickets are available for the two-day festival for $149 in advance or $200 at the door. Ticket price includes wine and food samples and a keepsake wine glass.

 

Saturday, April 20

Beachside Wine Festival

1 p.m.–4 p.m.—Doheny State Beach, 25300 Dana Point Harbor Dr.

The event culminates with a beachside afternoon-long celebration of California wines. Hit the grassy, palm-lined Doheny State Beach to experience the ideal California wine tasting experience with unlimited wine and food tastings, plus sun, sea and music. Visitors will sip on hundreds of California wines and samples of local and regional craft brews will be provided too.

Tickets: $69 in advance, $80 at the gate

For early entrance to the festival (Noon to 4 p.m.), tickets are available for $94 in advance and $105 at the gate.

WineDown from 4 p.m.–5 p.m. at the adjacent Doheny State Beach Picnic area. Free waters and snacks will be served. The event will benefit the DSBIA (Doheny State Beach Interpretive Association) and donations will be accepted.
