The city of Dana Point has chosen 2nd Hand Treasures as the Business of the Month for September 2015.

Located in Capistrano Beach at 34272 Doheny Park Road, 2nd Hand Treasures is owned by Ziad Mahshi and Helen Chade-Mahshi.

Having spent over 17 years working as a global sales manager for Xerox, Ziad decided he wanted to be able to spend more time with his family and it was time to change directions. Ziad and Helen decided to open their own business and, having a shared appreciation for antiques and collectables, they knew from the start that they wanted to open a second-hand store.

Timing worked out perfectly as Helen’s father had just purchased the building on Doheny Park Road and the couple was offered a spot to set up their new business. That was in 2010, and now five years later they are still enjoying every minute of it.

2nd Hand Treasures specializes in furniture and home décor and offers something for everyone. On any given day, 2nd Hand Treasures has a wide array of items, unique accessories and collectibles, including antiques, paintings, jewelry, chandeliers, shabby chic and vintage furniture, accent pieces and more, all at affordable prices. They have also expanded the amount of jewelry they carry and customers visit bright and early to see what new antique rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces they have in stock.

2nd Hand Treasures buys, sells and trades. And in addition to items customers bring into the store on consignment, Ziad and Helen search all over the area looking for unique items. This continued access to items allows 2nd Hand Treasures to constantly have new items in stock for their customers.

Ziad and Helen also take a great deal of pride in making sure their customers are treated just like friends and family. Many of their customers have been coming in since they opened and know that they will be greeted with a smile and provided exceptional service. This friendly service and the wide array of merchandise attract customers from all over the area, making 2nd Hand Treasures a favorite destination for antiques, accessories and collectables.
