coach-houseGary Hoey may have been raised in Boston, but his musical career took off in Southern California after receiving encouragement from an unlikely guardian angel: Ozzy Osbourne.

After spending his youth noodling on guitars and skipping high school to loiter and learn around the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Hoey tried out for Osbourne’s band in 1987 when the icon stopped by Boston. Though Hoey didn’t get the spot, Osbourne encouraged Hoey to move to Los Angeles to kick start his career.

Hoey returns to Southern California on Friday, Dec. 16, taking his Ho Ho Hoey Rockin Holiday Tour to the Coach House.

Since that fateful trip to L.A., Hoey has recorded 19 albums—over 1 million sold—and earned a Billboard Top 5 spot with his cover of “Hocus Pocus.”

Hoey is a guitar virtuoso who has shared the stage with other masters of the craft like Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, Dick Dale and more.

Tickets start at $23 and are available at www.thecoachhouse.com.
