On Oct. 31, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a call on the 35000 block of Camino Capistrano after Hannes Michael Wood, 44, walked into a residence naked through an open sliding glass door.
An adult female inside the residence was awakened by the suspect, who fled after she screamed. Upon arrival, deputies found Wood hiding in the garage and took him into custody without incident.
Sgt. Rich Himmel of Dana Point Police Services reported that Wood has been arrested more than 30 times, serving time at Wasco State Prison in 2009. Himmel said his last listed residence is one in Dana Point on Calle Verano.
Wood pled not guilty to one felony count of burglary of an occupied residence during his arraignment on Nov. 1. Wood remains in the Orange County Jail on $150,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday, Nov.14.
