The Shed—a new fine art gallery at the Coastal Arcadian—will open its 2013 exhibit season with an artist’s reception on Saturday, February 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the show fittingly named “ARRIVAL.”
Since the gallery’s informal opening in November, Coastal Arcadian owner Sue Osborne said the gallery has found direction. Featuring mostly contemporary art, the exhibit will feature artists from Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palm Springs and Chicago, including Michael Ruffini—who was recently named The Shed’s gallery director.
The exhibit will run through the end of February.
Osborne said a new exhibit will be featured every 30 days.
With lush gardens and open-air patios, the Arcadian is an art collective that features a bead shop, mercantile store and art gallery. Osborne called this trilogy of shops, “a pre-computer era breath of fresh air.”
The Shed gallery—at 24471 Del Prado Ave., Dana Point—is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information about the gallery and to check on upcoming events visit theshed-danapoint.com or call 949.429.5591.
