With elephants, art and commission appointees on the agenda, the Dana Point City Council will reconvene at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at City Hall Council Chambers—33282 Golden Lantern—to open up its 2013 calendar.
What to Expect…
• After the council’s December vote to renew the Dana Point Tourism Business Improvement District, or TBID, council members will discuss signing a contract on the group’s behalf to bring the Elephant Parade—an international art exhibition of painted elephant statues supporting conservation efforts of Asian elephants—to Dana Point.
• Kevin Evans, director of Community Services and Parks, in November reported to the Planning Commission on the proposed public art installation at Lantern Bay Park, with the commission voting 5 to 0 in favor. The council is set to decide on the project.
Also on the agenda, the council will file the annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2012 and announce appointees to the Planning Commission and Traffic Improvement Subcommittee.
