Vol. 1, Issue 1, February 8-14, 2008
THE LATEST: Phase I and II of the Strand at Headlands—31 oceanfront lots—quickly sold out at a cost of more than $175 million. Headlands also released seven ocean-view lots as part of Phase III. The lots run as large as 20,000 square feet and will feature unobstructed beach and ocean views. As of mid-January, the development has received 18 deposits of $100,000 to $200,000 for Phase III. The Headlands and the city also agreed to discontinue construction of a 150-foot stairway that connected to a
1,200-foot coastal access path near the Salt Creek Beach parking lot. Instead, the developer will add 800 more feet of coastal trails.
WHAT’S NEXT: Samford Edward, principal of Headlands Reserve, said he’s ready to break ground on the project’s 9,000-square foot, three-story private beach club next month. The club will include a pool, lockers for all 1,800 homeowners, a bar and restaurant, and a fitness center, all with oceanfront views.
